Jharkhand Judicial Service Exam -Vacancy details :

  • Civil Judge Posts
  • Total posts- 116

Jharkhand Judicial Service Exam -Qualification :

  • Law graduate from a recognized University and enrolled as an advocate under the Adovacates, Act, 1961, and
  • Possesses sound health, bears good moral character and is not involved in, or related to any criminal case involving moral turpitude.

Jharkhand Judicial Service Exam - Age limit :

  • Above the age of22 years and below the age of35 years as on 31.01.2013
  • Provided that in the case of female candidate, or candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe there shall be relaxation of the upper age limit by 3 years.

Pay Scale :  Rs. 27700-44770

Application Fee :

  • Rs. 550/- for Gen/ OBC-I/ OBC-II and
  • Rs.300/- for SC/ST to be deposited in any branch of SBI through a payment challan

Syllabus

Jharkhand Judicial Service Exam - Syllabus: -

  • “Preliminary Entrance Test” means Written Examination (Multiply Choice Questions/Objective Type) only and the candidates declared successful in this test shall be eligible for the Main Examination.
  • “Main Examination” means Written Examination (Subjective) and the candidates decleared successful in this Test shall be eligible for VivaVoce Test.
  • “Viva-Voce Test” means an Oral Examination.

The Syllabus for the Preliminary Entrance Test shall consist of:-

  • General English.
  • General knowledge (including Current Affairs)
  • The Code of Civil Procedure, 1908.
  • The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.
  • The Indian Evidence Act, 1872.
  • The Law of Contract, 1872.
  • The Indian Penal Code, 1860.

The Preliminary Entrance Test shall be of 100 marks in aggregate. The marks obtained in preliminary examination shall not be counted for the purpose of final selection. There shall be no negative marking.

  • Duration of Preliminary Entrance Test shall be of two hours.

The Main Examination shall be of four papers of 100 marks each comprising of
the questions on the following subjects :-
Paper – I

  • Procedural Law (The Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 and The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973)
  • The Indian Penal Code, 1860.
  • The Indian Evidence Act, 1872.
  • The Limitation Act, 1963

Paper – II

  • The Contract Act, 1872
  • The Sales of Goods Act, 1930
  • The Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881
  • The Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996
  • The Transfer of Property Act, 1882

Paper – III

  • The Hindu Law and The Mohammedan Law
  • Rent Control Law.
  • The Specific Relief Act, 1963
  • Jurisprudence

Paper – IV (Langua2e)

  • Hindi & English (Essay, Precise writing, Translation & Paraphrase)

Duration of Main Examination shall be of three hours for each paper.

Jharkhand Judicial Service Exam - How to Apply :  Candidates can send Application in the prescribed format to the Controller of Examinations, Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC), Circular Road, Ranchi – 834001 (Jharkhand) on or before 06/01/2014.
